History & Heritage
- Sandwich is one of the best preserved medieval towns in the UK. Within the old town walls many period houses with characteristic "Kent peg" roofs, are laid out in a way which has changed little since the Doomsday book in 1086.
- The fabulous Cathedral City of Canterbury has a whole host of history and heritage to discover including two castles, six museums, St Augustine's Abbey and the Cathedral itself
- Whitstable (20 miles) has a rich maritime history and is famous for its oysters

Spectacularly situated above the White Cliffs of Dover this magnificent castle has guarded our shores from invasion for 20 centuries - and now you can enjoy a great family day out at any time since its open all year and is just a 15 minute drive away.

Built during the reign of King Henry VIII, Walmer Castle is another fascinating visitor attraction just a short drive away. Originally part of a chain of coastal defences it evolved into the official residence of the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports.
